Abora IV

- one of the most ambitious archaeological adventures of the modern ages

The results of the Abora III expedition presented a lot of new arguments for the feasibility of a North Atlantic crossing in a reed boat. However, the fact that Abora III did not reach the geographical destination will always cause critics to question transatlantic trade journeys. This judgment will not be changed by the distance of 2,410 sea miles which the reed boat actually covered.

Abora IV overcomes borders between times and cultures: Abora IV will burst all conceptions about the time before history like time bursts all walls. Long distance trades were common in prehistoric times even though science denies this up to today. The prehistoric open seafarers crossed the Atlantic in both directions even without GPS, sea maps and motor drive – before Columbus and before the Vikings.

Because of this we will put all of our effort into the new project Abora IV in order to meet the challenges of the North Atlantic one more time. With the experience, knowledge and improvements a future Abora IV expedition has much higher chance to reach the destination Spain. The project group works intensively on the analysis of the results of the expedition, on the promotion of new sponsors and project partners in order to be able to set sails again in a few years. The main goal will be to completely and successfully cross the difficult North Atlantic route. For this purpose Abora IV will be built in New York, the starting point of the expedition, and it will be equipped with many new features.
